Learn about the V-CONNECT Advance Pay Service
V-CONNECT Advance Pay Service is a prepaid service for receiving collect calls from inmates and is useful in following situations where the phone number has restrictions from receiving calls from a correctional facility such as
- Collect calls blocks placed by the telephone company
- Value Added Communications (VAC) not having a billing contract with local telephone company
- The account being suspended due to reaching the monthly limit that VAC has allowed to be billed to local telephone company
The Advance Pay account of V-Connect allows you to receive and pay for collect calls from correctional facilities that have previously been denied. As the collect calls are accepted, the cost of the call plus applicable taxes is deducted from the prepaid account balance.
The payments can be made using credit card, debit card, cashier check, and money order. However a transaction/convenience fee, is charged, which is separate from Money Gram charges.
The calling rates provided by V-Connect are different based on where the phone number is located in relation to the facility. In case of transfer of inmate the fids also get transferred as long as V-Connect services are available in new facility else the money is promised to be refunded. V-Connect also charges a $4.95 monthly inactivity fee to any stagnant account that exceeds 180 days of no call activity until the funds have been exhausted or the call activity resumes.
