The centralized monitoring can be used by less equipped facilities to provide telephone service economically. With centralized monitoring and control approach the correctional facility only need to install standard inmate telephones, a power backup system, workstation, and peripherals. The information of the calls made is carried using a virtual private network (VPN) connection to one of AGM's Network Operation Centers (NOCs). To maintain data security all call detail information is stored at a redundant site geographically separated from the main NOC so that in case of any mishap at NOC the old data is not affected. The system is also not accessible over public network due to security reasons. However, if the need arises the facilities can securely log in to AGM Telecom web site and can listen to digitally encrypted recorded conversations in real time. The details can also be accessed via AGM virtual private network.
The centralized telephony hardware allows sharing of the system and bringing down cost substantially for the facilities. The upgrades etc. as required for time to time can be done centrally reducing the down time & expenses require in such cases.
